Peanut butter apple dip features creamy peanut butter mixed with cream cheese and honey for a sweet, protein-packed dip. Perfect with fresh apple slices for healthy snacking!

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: About 2 cups (8-10 servings) 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dip:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • ¼ cup honey (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips or cinnamon for topping

For Serving:

  • 4-6 apples (Honeycrisp, Gala, Fuji, or Granny Smith)
  • Lemon juice (to prevent apple browning)
  • Optional: pretzels, graham crackers, celery sticks

Instructions

  1. Soften Cream Cheese: Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature (leave out for 30-60 minutes, or microwave for 10-15 seconds). Soft cream cheese blends smoothly without lumps.
  2. Beat Cream Cheese: In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese with an electric mixer (or vigorously with a whisk) for 1-2 minutes until light, fluffy, and completely smooth with no lumps.
  3. Add Peanut Butter: Add peanut butter to the cream cheese. Beat on medium speed for 1-2 minutes until fully combined and creamy. The mixture should be smooth and well-incorporated.
  4. Add Sweetener: Add honey and vanilla extract (if using). Beat for another minute until everything is evenly mixed and the dip is smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  5. Check Consistency: The dip should be thick but scoopable. If too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons milk or cream to thin slightly. If too thin, refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to firm up.
  6. Transfer to Serving Bowl: Scrape dip into a serving bowl using a rubber spatula. Smooth the top or create decorative swirls. If desired, sprinkle mini chocolate chips or cinnamon on top.
  7. Prepare Apples: Slice apples into wedges or slices just before serving. To prevent browning, toss with a little lemon juice or store in water with lemon juice until serving.
  8. Serve: Arrange apple slices around the dip bowl and serve immediately. Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Room temperature cream cheese is essential for smooth, lump-free dip.
  • Adjust honey to taste—start with less if you prefer less sweet.
  • Natural peanut butter works but may be slightly grainier; stir well before using.
  • Dip thickens when refrigerated; let sit at room temperature 10-15 minutes before serving.
  • For nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter or soy nut butter.
  • Store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 5-7 days.
