Watermelon pizza features thick watermelon rounds topped with creamy yogurt, fresh berries, nuts, coconut, and honey. This healthy, fun, no-cook dessert is perfect for summer and takes just 10 minutes!

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 slices (serves 4-6) 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Base:

  • 1 whole seedless watermelon (or large chunk, at least 8-10 inches diameter)
  • 1- cups plain or vanilla Greek yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt for vegan)

For Toppings:

  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • ½ cup raspberries
  • 2-3 kiwis, peeled and sliced
  • ¼ cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • ¼ cup granola or sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup for drizzling (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Optional Additional Toppings:

  • Blackberries
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Chia seeds
  • Hemp hearts
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Edible flowers
  • Fresh basil
  • Lime zest

Instructions

  1. Prepare Watermelon: Place watermelon on a cutting board. Using a large sharp knife, cut off both ends to create flat, stable surfaces. Stand watermelon upright and carefully slice a round “wheel” about 1-1½ inches thick from the center (the widest part). This creates your pizza base.
  2. Dry the Surface: Pat the watermelon round dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps the yogurt adhere better and prevents it from sliding off.
  3. Spread “Sauce”: Using a spoon or offset spatula, spread Greek yogurt evenly over the top surface of the watermelon round, leaving about a ½-inch border around the edge (like pizza crust). The yogurt layer should be about ¼-inch thick.
  4. Prepare Toppings: While you spread yogurt, have all your toppings prepared—berries washed and sliced, kiwi peeled and sliced, nuts chopped, coconut measured out.
  5. Arrange Toppings: Arrange toppings over the yogurt in any pattern you like. You can create sections like pizza slices, concentric circles, or random artistic patterns. Get creative—there’s no wrong way! Press toppings gently into the yogurt so they stick.
  6. Add Finishing Touches: Sprinkle shredded coconut, granola, or nuts over the top. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
  7. Slice and Serve: Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the watermelon round into 6-8 wedges like pizza slices. Serve immediately for best texture.

Notes

  • Choose ripe, sweet watermelon for best flavor—should feel heavy and sound hollow when tapped.
  • Pat watermelon dry before adding yogurt to prevent sliding toppings.
  • Greek yogurt is essential—regular yogurt is too thin and runs off.
  • Best served immediately after assembling while yogurt is fresh and toppings are crisp.
  • Can prepare components ahead and assemble just before serving.
  • Customize toppings based on dietary needs and preferences.
  • For younger children, consider cutting into smaller “slice” sizes.
